Surging while in Cruise

Hello All,

my 2006 EB with the V6 is surging while set at 72 - 75 mph. I noticed the rpm fluctuating between 2000 and 2500. It doesn't do it while not in cruise. Sometimes it happens while the engine is cold. Might be 2 different problems.

Any ideas?

I was told maybe a vacuum leak. I haven't had time to play with it yet.

I would rule out vacuum leak. The speed control is not vacuum actuated like early explorers. They are all electronic due to the electronic throttle control. It could be the xmsn shifting back and forth between 4th and OD. Does it mainly do it on slopes?

It has been a few months now and it just stopped doing.
Didn't do anything different.
