Suspension lift

Lookin to lift my '01 mountaineer 5.0 with AWD. Cant seem to find anything except for havin somthin custom made, and thats around 3-4 grand. Anyone know of where I can get a lift for this Mounty. I'm lookin for a 3-4" suspension lift. Thanks

Superlift makes a kit for it, look on their site, but use Explorer instead of mounty ,

I read about that lift, was the only one I could find. Also read that it is rough on the front drive shaft, only lasts 25k miles after the lift. Any truth to this at all? Anything I can do to prevent that from happening?

hmm, i think that the awd front driveshaft can be changed for an Expidition front shaft taking that problem away, , not totally sure about that,
but i do know there is no other lifts available ..


Do you have a cv type front driveshaft connection to the transfer case ?

yes, i believe it is a cv type drive shaft in the front

Well, first, before you lift it you should swap in a 4406 transfer case. The AWD will not like lifting, or, larger tires. Not to mention you really need a lo range for off roading.
