I don't know why it would be a problem. But then again I'm not a Ford engineer. Your best bet may be just to compare the monting brackets and the hardware. If everything matches up, I would say go for it. Even if they weren't stait swap I think you could make them fit with a little work.
I bet it would work just fine. You probably would just have to re-use your existing seat mounting brackets. I know that Mustang seats will bolt in this way. I think saleen sells "take-outs" from mustangs that are brand new for a good price.
