Anyone use poly bushings on the end links of a rear sway bar?

Thoughts.............

yep

When replacing stock rubber bushings with polyurethane, its definitely best to to replace ALL of them. If you are doing your sway bars, that means replacing the main bushings that hold the bar to the frame or axle, as well as the connecting links.

I'd also say replace the bushings on the front sway bar with polyurethane if you do the back.
If you're thinking of just replacing the end links on the rear with poly and keeping rubber for everything else, that might cause some odd or even dangerous handling characteristics.

You can now get Energy Suspension end link bushings at AutoZone....and DayStar has a deal going on the message board. Check out the "Important!" notes at the top of the message boards for details.

Al,

I just replaced the following with the daystar products and the results were fantastic.

Front sway bar and endlinks
Rear sway bar and endlinks
Rear spring eyes
Shackle bushings
Radius arm bushings
Axle pivot bushings.

Money well spent if your factory rubber bushings are cracked or mushroomed.

Yes, I am the Daystar deal guy....

Hank, i did not see any goodies for a late model truck??????

I had previously ordered the front sway bar poly bushings from Explorer express. Part number ES 45155G $39.95.

They came today, along with the end links with poly bushings.

Install will occur tomorrow.

Do the endlinks come with the ES kit or just through Explorer Express? I was thinkin about getting those through another dealer but I thought $30 was a little high for just the bushings that go around the sway bar.

The bushings and end links seen in a previous post are the EE kit.

Well today is 'tomorrow' :)

How'd the install go and how's the ride?

Take a look at Dead Link Removed for the write up.

I just done the front bushings and wow. You will feel the change. I can't wait to do the rear bushings, after that will be the pivit point ploy bushings, after the pivit points my frint will be all polys.
PS it's very ez to do the front sway bar bushings

Hi Guys,

I sent this thread to the entire management team at Daystar in order to motivate them to get us the 95+ products.

It kills me to see you spending more somewhere else but I am glad you see the great results..

We'll get them soon....

lifted...

I have had problems with my end links. My truck seems to be eating the bushings like they are going out of style. I relealized that having the front lifted calls for longer endlinks. I picked up some new ones with poly bushings and it ate through them. Tonight, I took the sway off to paint it red, like the saleen one in the rear, and put it on upside down. Everything looks nice and level now but I think that it is interfering with the tie rods. Any suggestions? Who makes longer end links?

a world of difference... after flipping the front sway over, my truck feels like a totally different beast. The handling is great and no leaning around turns. only minor complications with end links. Still working on it...

Hank, any news on the Daystar brshings for the late models?

Thanks.....

i saved this picture for a rainy day. i replaced my front swaybar endlinks (there was a recall, figured i would do it myself with something better) with these. as you can tell from the pic, i got some about 1.5 inches shorter than stock. these work very well with lowered X's, as they put the swaybar back at the factory angle. for those of you running your stock links, it will appear that the stocker is much beefier. i promise you, it is not. that tapered link is actually plastic. the bolt that runs through it is about half the size of the one in the Energy Suspension link i got... and BTW, i would have gone with Daystar, but due to time constraints and the fact that we were about to go on a trip when the stocker failed (2 days after i got the recall notice) i had to go local. in the future, when i get a 98-up front bar and a EE or whatever brand rear bar, you can bet EVERYTHING will be replaced with Daystar.

Not so on my '99.

well, the 95-97's had the crappy hollow front swaybar, so i guess they get a crappy endlink as well. in either case, as soon as i find a 98-up in the local boneyard you can bet i will grab the front swaybar. rear EE bar is currently in my 5 page list of "to do" mods...
