tail light question

yea, im probably going to be labeled a retard for asking this. But...here goes nothing.

I searched, but have found absolutly nothing about it at all...

Will 2nd gen tail lights fit on a 1st gen exploder?

Nope....I dont think it hurts to ask questions, some members disagree but hey were all here to help, some know more than others.


The 1st gens are like big rectangles, (completely square all around) and the 2nd gens tails where it wraps around to the side is actually curved and longer...you COULD make them fit, but that would entail cutting into the rear fender which you probably wouldnt wanna do.

Same with the 1st gens on a 2nd gen, theres a big curved opening, which you could fill in, but why?

I do like the 2nd gen style better myself though.

Me being me, I actually happen to have a pic of my 1st gens tails on my 2nd gen, you can see the gap im talking about, so think of the exact opposite and you'll see how they wouldnt fit.

yea, i see what you mean. Thats to much work. I just wondered, i also prefer the second gen tail lights. Hey i appreciate your help. That was a pretty specific question...and you had a pic to. haha. Dang, How far back would explorer owners be without this site.
