At almost exactly 2mi after starting from cold engine, my temp gauge pegs for about 10 seconds, heater blows cold, then everything returns to normal. I've replaced the thermostat, temp sensor, upper radiator hoe, and replaced coolant. Still happening. I don't see any leaks, any thoughts as to my next step?

sounds like air in the system do some searches on youtube on bleeding the system as I did my t-stat housing and never had a problem...... many systems just require you you run the engine with the rad cap off till all the air is out

yes, i would bet air in the system, ,,

I had a Ranger 4.0 did the same thing, bled air from system solved it.
