I had to a frame swap around February. I put a 96 frame on my 2000 body and i put all the 2000 suspension underneath. Well apparently the torsion bar Keys sit in a different type of pocket on the 96 compared to the 2000.
When i put all the 2000 suspension underneath with TT all the way on the stock bolts. It sagged Alot but it didn't bottom out. Thinking it was the torsion bars i put my 96 Torsion Bars in And Ran them all the way up. BIG Problems. My FR Control Arm was allowing the torsion bars to slip slightly in hole making my right sit lower. But with the bars TT all the way up the right was sagging so bad now. That when i even pull into a parking lot it bottoms out.
Could i fix this problem by putting 1996 Torsion Bar Keys on instead of the 2000 ones?
Could the Lower Control Arms Be Different then the 2000 so it doesnt sit in the pockets correctly ... HELP

If you could post some pictures up it sure would help us help you. Your wording of parts names are kinda confusing.

Knuckles are the big bulky odd shape steel parts the the cv axle goes thru and the brake calipers bolt to.

The Torsion bar mounts are not knuckles. Yes they are different in later models.

The LCA's should all be the same.

I'm thinking you either don't have enough of a twist with the t-bar bolts, or the tbar keys are not going up because of some type of interference from the swapped parts. The newer styles have "Pads" for cushion on the wrist of the keys. If you have a 96 frame under it, you shouldn't have these.

Sorry i guess i meant keys when i said knuckles. Correct There is no pad and i was thinking the 2000 keys are different than the 1996 because the 2000 keys are supposed to be on a cushion

Wow! You really do have a problem there don't you.

There is definitely not enough twist on the t-bars. Your LCA should sit level for a stock ride height.

What size bolts are you using for the t-bar crank? If your bottomed out with the ones you have (which might have got mixed up & wrong ones used during swap) you might just try some longer bolts and see if that helps. They are a M12-1.75 bolt. Dealership parts counter should have them stock length, or Fastenol.com has them in diff lengths.

Try that 1st and see if it helps any. Make sure your ball joints are still good too, those pics make them look stressed a bit.

Here is a link to a set I used for additional height doing a TT. These are 100mm and are a lot longer than stock, but you dont have to use all of it, just as much as you need to get your wanted height.
