Snowballs

Hey Ryan, that happend to me last month. I was passing by this church that sits up on a hill, and the road is way down below. I see these 4 kids (12ish) standing up on the snowy hill (roads were clear) as I drove by BOOF a giant snowball hits my windshield, so I screeched to a stop, drove over the median strip (no curb just grass) and motored up the long uphill driveway to the church. The kids were stunned. I pulled up outside where they were standing and rolled my window down. I said "you know whats even more fun than throwing snowballs" and one of them says "....what"
so I said "chopping off little boy balls". They just kinda stood there stunned, so I popped the door handle and opened the door slightly and they all ran off screaming......I laughed all the way home! I can only imagine what they were thinking when they saw a big silver Lexus charging across the median strip towards them.

I'm a mean ol man heh heh

Thanks Stephen. Actually, I do keep my digicam in my truck now for those special "Kodak" moments. I now know that what I did was wrong, and I should have just let it go and tried to handle it the proper way. I didn't really want to claim the damage because I didn't want my truck to be out of service for another week getting repainted, it had just gotten parts repainted the month before. That night was just the culmination of a really bad week and my emotions got the better of me. And I agree, it isn't worth the risk of getting in trouble for the jollies of vandalism. Well, I'm still only 20 and have a little more growing up to do. Fortunately, my truck was just a little worse for wear after the incident and I've learned from my mistakes. Isn't that what life's all about: learning from our mistakes and others'?

Sorry I got all touchy-feely; I'll go workout now....

Then they left the vehicles and let the cameras roll. The guy who parked over the line came out and was super POed that he couldn't get into his car. Then they would cue some extras to walk up to the guy and say, "oh look, your car is parked over the line, geez, it's no wonder they boxed you in". After a he was throughly humiliated they let him in on the joke!

That sounds a LOT better. If you stick around you can pretend youre just walking by and make a comment about their parking..and they usually wont hit your vehicle with the door or anything if someones around watching them.
You can humiliate them somewhat and clue them in on their lousy parking skills, without violence or property damage.

If your ride got damage before you got there, Stephens idea sounds the best.

I once had a camaro towed because the guy parked side ways and took up 3 hadicaped spaces, makes me laugh to this day.:D I do also think keying/kicking is wrong in most situations. I would never hurt another vehicle if it looked like an accident, but if it's dented to $hit I'm gonna be a little less forgiving. If I happen to have the oportunity to catch the person that did it, well their vehicle is not what's going to be dented. I just can't tollerate that behavior in people, I mean if they are going to intentionally damage my vehicle then they can suffer whatever consequenses happens back to them. If it's a little dent done purposely I'm not going to go off, I will just do equal damage. I know it's the wrong way to think but I'm just tired of this crap!

Alec, trust me buddy I've been there.

Troy, I know, people are morons. Door dings etc arent intentional, its just ignorance. Some people just dont care about their cars, and they dont think anyone else does either. Take the guy who backed into me last june (theres a thread about this in this forum somewhere) he started to just get in his car and drive off, and I said hey, I'm going to need your information so I can get my car fixed. He didnt argue, he was just surprised I cared. Think of it the way I do about door dings though, is something that costs $70 to have popped out at Dent Wizard and can be turned into your comprehensive insurance at no deductible and no rate increase really worth stressing over? I just park, and when it goes in for service I tell the guy that picks it up "Here's my insurance adjusters name and number, go around and fix any dings you see and bill it to him" and its taken care of at no cost. I've had my car for going on three years (will be 3 in May) and I dont park haphazardly (except that time the other week and see what it got me) but I dont park at the end of the lot etc. I make sure I'm even in the middle of the space and all, and I've only been dinged three times. Each ding was removed and billed to my insurance no sweat. Not worth worrying over.

My wife and son are like that, they park at the ends of the earth lol. I park too much during the day to do that though.

Some people just don't care about how they park and they don't care about who's door they hit. I try to park next to nicer cars but not next to cars that old people tend to drive (ie: never park next to a Crown Victoria... lol) and I don't usually get door dings. I have watched people hit my car with their door and it is usually some lady with a van full of kids who's attention is somewhere else. I usually just say "HEY!" and the embarrassed look on their faces is enough to satisfy me. I have on occassion opened my door into someones car intentionally but only when they parked too close and there was no reason. When I first moved to Calgary I was mad because this place is "The Land of Double Park" but now I just go find another spot even if it is a little further away. I don't want anyone to hit my door and I try not to hit theirs because it leaves a mark on mine too.

I don't get many people opening their doors into my truck, something about it being dirty, big and ugly actually makes people give me more room. :) I especially like to park next to the yuppies in their shiny brand new Explorers that way they know that they ain't so bad ;) LMAO but that is something different all together. :)

Really Annoying Things

I've been dinged a few times myself. What really gets me is how angry people get at things so small in importance. Yes, my vehicle is important. I paid alot of money for it and want to keep it nice. But to get so angry over someone else's stupidity? My husband always reminds me to look out for other people. One day someone may be looking out for me when I do something stupid unitentionally. If you get that angry over someone parking so close, what happens when someone drops your favorite vase? Or scratches your fav CD? Or howabout if the "new paint job" after the ding doesn't match exactly. Just cuz someone misread the code? Do you whip out a knife and stab their ass? No, I don't think so. You generally give people a chance to redeem themselves and say sorry before you exact revenge. We can't ALL be rocket surgeons, and to expect everyone to be as smart as you, makes you the idiot. The world is so angry these days. Its just not worth the angry feeling that sticks with you for hours.

Can't we all just get along? :)

You go to med school to get your MD then work at NASA as a shuttle flight surgeon. That's what I'm probably going end up doing, so :p

hehehe

Rocket Surgery...

I think you can get a certificate at Kmart or something :) But, hey I would rather be a rocket surgeon than a brain scientist! lol
