I have a 93 Explorer with a wierd whirring or buzzing sound that comes from the front drivers side wheel occasionally. I am told it may be the bearings, I am having them replaced tomorrow. Any other possibilities if that doesn't solve it? Also, I was averaging 300 miles on a tank of gas until I had the head gasket done and an upper engine rebuild about 500 miles ago. I am now averaging about 230 miles on a tank. The tranny is new and everything else seems fine. Where is my gas going? Fuel filter bad? Any help would be appreciated.......Thanks..............Jack, Everett WA

Have you read some of the Posts about Auto Hubs? Is your X 4WD?
Gas Mileag: If your bearings are bad, there's a slight chance that your Brakes are dragging a bit.

Whirring sound..

Thanks Tony for your reply. When I had the bearings done yesterday the hubs were checked. Everything looked good. I am hoping the bearing replacement does away with the sound. So far so good. Thanks again.
