nm, i got it

Coolchriscush, when I was younger (27+ years ago) or so there was a show on tv, before there was ever a CHiP's, called Adam 12. It was a cop show. 1-adam-12 was their car number and they said it all the time. "1-adam-12 is responding to the call, 1-adam-12 is getting donuts. Etc." There was aother show that was on right afterwards called Emergecy! that followed paramedics. Good Look here<fun.http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-975/>

I saw it last night. Not as good as I expected overall, but it was pretty good. Matrix 1 was something so different it's hard to beat.

Zensius, Zion was very well done IMO. I liked the party scene :D

To me the fight scenes didn't seem nearly as compelling as in Matrix 1. The slow mo stuff was cool a couple years ago, but they needed to expand on it and create new effects since everyone has been doing that ever since in everything from comedy acts to Scary Movie.

Even so, I can't wait until Matrix 3. They left you hanging in this one even more than they did in the original.

Another thing, I didn't think the movie needed an R rating. No fool language at all, the only sex scene showed a bit of thigh and Keanu's ass from across the room. The violance was tame even by cartoon standards. I think they only showed blood a couple times. Bascially people were just getting knocked out. Batman was darker than this movie by far and I think it only got a PG13 rating.

there's a booby shot as they pan across the zion folks jumping around and stuff. its fast.. but its there! they could easily have done without it though. maybe that is all that makes it an R rating.

WOW!!!! I just saw it last night! I loved every bit of it! I agree with Rick on the fight scenes, everybody's doing it now. Anyway I can't wait until 3! BTW, when is 3 coming out?

I beleive it will be in November.

the 5th to be exact

I agree with Rick, it shouldn't have been rated R. What a great movie though, I was a little shocked to hear that the oracle was actually manipulating Neo in an effort to satisfy the cycle...that kinda threw me for a loop. Or am I wrong??? ANyway, it confused me. I'm betting that the architect guy was lying his butt off, and the Oracle is in fact on the human's side.
As for the hot chick with the cake incident, I believe that the cake was "programmed" to produce key female sexual hormones that would, in essence, promote activity and attraction from a sexual perspective...it made her horny:D . I love the fight scene between Neo and the hundreds of Agent Smiths!!!

that was pretty good, butI still like the gun fight in the first better:D

You got me on that one ;)

I believe this movie was much more intellectually stimulating than the last one. The concept put forth in the last one isn't new. I knew what they were extrapolating from when they did it.

In this movie though, they took you much deeper into the inner workings of the Matrix and why certain things were done and are being done. Philosophically this is a much better movie.

Also, the language used is much better. Like someone said on Pirate during a discussion over there, when the Architect was speaking, most of the audience had no clue what half of the words meant.

A reporter said it and I agree. I think it was rated R mainly for panache. To show that a rated R movie could rake in dough, despite the fact that a majority of potential movie goers wouldn't be allowed to watch it without parental consent.

I am thoroughly looking forward to the final episode in November.

I certainly had no idea what the architect was saying! I guess being able to send emails and post on a message board isn't enough computer knowledge to understand the complexities of The Matrix.

yeah, my buddies said that much of what the architect was saying was based on computer knowledge. It went right over my head, but I think I'll figure it out eventually

I'm just afraid that in the last, I hope (doubt) that the outcome doesn't actually end up the whole thing, the Matrix, the agents, Zion, and everything else end up being a dream, I'll be pissed

I don't think it will be a dream, that would just be an unimaginative end to one of the most imaginative productions. It wouldn't coincide with the complex and enveloping plot lines shown in the first two movies. The architect's speech was truly impressive, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Like CoryL said, this movie was superior to the first one in reference to the philosophical depth. It required that the audience actually think and interact, something I think many current movies are lacking. It is this sort of audience participation that ultimately makes a movie worth watching, not the special effects (though they certainly help ;) )

As for what the architect was saying, my brother who is really into computers understood almost every component while I was struggling to understand where the heck he was going with it. I was a little confused as to how the matrix continued to operate even in spite of the main frame's building destruction. Was that a mere illusion or did the program transfer itself prior to the explosion?

The Architect as a character impresses me because of his vocabulary. Most movies now-a-days have to dumb themselves down so that the majority of the people can understand the dialogue.

The Architect scene impresses me because of the entire concept and the use of the televisions as a means of computing possible outcomes based on Neo's feedback to the Architect. It is like on big nested "if...then" statement.

One of the theories in the discussion over at Pirate is that prior to the destruction of the Matrix, the Architect and the Oracle would download themselves into a human, escape the Matrix, and then when the time was right, rebuild it with the coding they have. Seems to be possible because Agent Smith was able to take over that one guy's mind and exit the Matrix into the real world.

The lines of what is physical and what is the mind are VERY blurry at this point.

yeah the discussion over at pirate is pretty good.

i'm almost liking the threory more now about them being in the second matrix and neo realizing that at the end when he zaps the sentinels. however, if they were in a second matrix, couldn't the machines just kill them while in the little pod once they got to be a threat. maybe that is what is happening though with zion being so easily destroyed each time.
i really liked the screens in the mainframe with the architect. that was very cool. i also agree 100% that the movie was just too intellectual for many folks.
could neo still be attached somewhat to the matrix via agent smith (you remember how he jumped into him and all) or through the mainframe. maybe that's how he senses stuff so much better.
if they can enter the matrix from human world, it makes sense that agent smith could enter human world from the matrix as well.
i'm going to go back and watch it again this weekend to see anything i may have missed.
the one thing i didn't understand the most.. was the purpose of the french dude with the hot wife and the twins that had the keymaker locked up. he refers to surviving neo before but obviously if the architect expects him to get there, why would they put up such a fight to keep the keys out of his hands? i can understand why agent smith wanted the keys, but he is not really run by the matrix anymore (or so they have us believe). i missed something in that area so i gotta go watch it again.

Well, the kids made me go see it LOL. We watched the first one here, and they explained it to me as best they could, then we went and saw it, and then they explained the new one to me as best they could. All in all I really liked it, very well done. Very interesting movie to say the least.

Oh and Joe, I stuck around and saw your name in the credits ;)

WHAT ABOUT THE SOURCE.

The architect gave Neo the choice to go to the source and end everything OR go back into the Matrix and save Trinity. When Morpheus asked about the prophecy and said he thought once the they went the source it all would end. Neo told him the prophecy was a lie, but he never really went to the source. HUH, I'm confused.

And all that architect software talk went over my head, I need to see that part again, I think that is a key part. And the purpose of the Oracle. I did think the part of the keymaker was cool thogh.

I didn't get the cake and blonde thing either. Or the reason for showing her matrix parts.

All in all, I didn't think it was as good as the first one. Too many fight scenes and not enough story line. After fighting 1000 agent smiths for 10 min it was like, OK get on with it.

What about the only living person found at left at ZION?

The Architect - Hello, Neo.

Neo - Who are you?

The Architect - I am the Architect. I created the matrix. I’ve been waiting for you. You have many questions, and although the process has altered your consciousness, you remain irrevocably human. Ergo, some of my answers you will understand, and some of them you will not. Concordantly, while your first question may be the most pertinent, you may or may not realize it is also irrelevant.

Neo - Why am I here?

The Architect - Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the matrix. You are the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden to sedulously avoid it, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you, inexorably, here.

Neo - You haven’t answered my question.

The Architect - Quite right. Interesting. That was quicker than the others.

*The responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: “Others? What others? How many? Answer me!”*

The Architect - The matrix is older than you know. I prefer counting from the emergence of one integral anomaly to the emergence of the next, in which case this is the sixth version.

*Again, the responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: “Five versions? Three? I’ve been lied too. This is bull****.*

Neo: There are only two possible explanations: either no one told me, or no one knows.

The Architect - Precisely. As you are undoubtedly gathering, the anomaly’s systemic, creating fluctuations in even the most simplistic equations.

*Once again, the responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: “You can‘t control me! **** you! I’m going to kill you! You can‘t make me do anything!*

Neo - Choice. The problem is choice.

*The scene cuts to Trinity fighting an agent, and then back to the Architects room*

The Architect - The first matrix I designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art, flawless, sublime. A triumph equaled only by its monumental failure. The inevitability of its doom is as apparent to me now as a consequence of the imperfection inherent in every human being, thus I redesigned it based on your history to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of your nature. However, I was again frustrated by failure. I have since come to understand that the answer eluded me because it required a lesser mind, or perhaps a mind less bound by the parameters of perfection. Thus, the answer was stumbled upon by another, an intuitive program, initially created to investigate certain aspects of the human psyche. If I am the father of the matrix, she would undoubtedly be its mother.

Neo - The Oracle.

The Architect - Please. As I was saying, she stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly 99.9% of all test subjects accepted the program, as long as they were given a choice, even if they were only aware of the choice at a near unconscious level. While this answer functioned, it was obviously fundamentally flawed, thus creating the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly, that if left unchecked might threaten the system itself. Ergo, those that refused the program, while a minority, if unchecked, would constitute an escalating probability of disaster.

Neo - This is about Zion.

The Architect - You are here because Zion is about to be destroyed. Its every living inhabitant terminated, its entire existence eradicated.

Neo - Bull****.

*The responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: “Bull****!”*

The Architect - Denial is the most predictable of all human responses. But, rest assured, this will be the sixth time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

*Scene cuts to Trinity fighting an agent, and then back to the Architects room.*

The Architect - The function of the One is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program. After which you will be required to select from the matrix 23 individuals, 16 female, 7 male, to rebuild Zion. Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash killing everyone connected to the matrix, which coupled with the extermination of Zion will ultimately result in the extinction of the entire human race.

Neo - You won’t let it happen, you can’t. You need human beings to survive.

The Architect - There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept. However, the relevant issue is whether or not you are ready to accept the responsibility for the death of every human being in this world.

*The Architect presses a button on a pen that he is holding, and images of people from all over the matrix appear on the monitors*

The Architect - It is interesting reading your reactions. Your five predecessors were by design based on a similar predication, a contingent affirmation that was meant to create a profound attachment to the rest of your species, facilitating the function of the one. While the others experienced this in a very general way, your experience is far more specific. Vis-a-vis, love.

*Images of Trinity fighting the agent from Neos dream appear on the monitors*

Neo - Trinity.

The Architect - Apropos, she entered the matrix to save your life at the cost of her own.

Neo - No!

The Architect - Which brings us at last to the moment of truth, wherein the fundamental flaw is ultimately expressed, and the anomaly revealed as both beginning, and end. There are two doors. The door to your right leads to the source, and the salvation of Zion. The door to the left leads back to the matrix, to her, and to the end of your species. As you adequately put, the problem is choice. But we already know what you’re going to do, don’t we? Already I can see the chain reaction, the chemical precursors that signal the onset of emotion, designed specifically to overwhelm logic, and reason. An emotion that is already blinding you from the simple, and obvious truth: she is going to die, and there is nothing that you can do to stop it.

*Neo walks to the door on his left*

The Architect - Humph. Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness.

Neo - If I were you, I would hope that we don’t meet again.

The Architect - We won’t.
