I agree, I understood alot of what the architect was saying, and I could tell 3/4ths of the theater was just like 'huh'? I like to think the whole TV thing was for eye candy for people who were not totally engrossed in the dialouge.

well, from what I thought, the whole scene with the architect wasn't the actual source at all. I think that when Neo chose to go back to the matrix, back to Trinity (the Architect said she would die even if he went back to save her) and in fact, saved her, that maybe part of the Matrx had actually been re writen. What Neo did, was impossible, just as impossible as when he destoyed the agent in the first. While back in the real world (still not sure if it's real or not) he could feel the sentinals, to me, that seems like he's becoming more at the same level with some of the more complicated procedures of the Matrix. Something happend, whether he in some way hacked the source to some degree, I don't know.

The only reason I sugessted that it may have been a dream, what better reaction could you get, by buildingf a story, for what, 4 years now, getting millions of people pumped up over it, and shattering everything at the end. end it with Mr. Anderson waking up, in his apartment, and going right back to his job working on the computers It's not going to happen though

That would suck, wake up from a dream where you're superman back into a mundane reality where programming code is all the excitement you get. I really hope that's not the end. I agree though, that would be nasty of them to do!

I don't think it was eye candy.

Again, from the discussion at Pirate, someone proposed this idea.

The screens represent a visual of possible outcomes. Neo provides input to the Architect. The Architect then runs the input though the Matrix, calculating probabilities and possibilities and the result is the image in the screen.

When Neo says something unexpected, the camera zooms in and you are taken to a depiction of that possibility, then phased back to the room with the two of them in there. When Neo replies with something the Architect predicted, the dialogue continues.

Very interesting, very clever, and very complex.

I love it.

Possibly, indeed the screens have more of a role than eye candy, but what I was insinuating was that on a lesser scale, that was their purpose.
I have my own ideas about the TV system, although the concur for the most part with those on pirate (mabey I should subscribe there?)
I suspect however, that the matrix was designed with some redundancy in its earlier stages, a commong programming technique. I also think that its possible the matrix was branch predicting or preproscessing... its all computer related so far, so I dont see why not.
I still hold to that the architect has no actual significance in the story and that he is only something to help neo re-write the matrix. Only the third will tell, and I can only hope it remains as intelectually stimulating as the second, it will give me something to do over the christmas break.

The Architect - Thus, the answer was stumbled upon by another, an intuitive program, initially created to investigate certain aspects of the human psyche. If I am the father of the matrix, she would undoubtedly be its mother.

Neo - The Oracle.

The Architect - Please. As I was saying, she stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly 99.9% of all test subjects accepted the program, as long as they were given a choice, even if they were only aware of the choice at a near unconscious level.

SHE is Morpheous (or Trinity)
They are the ones that gave NEO a CHOICE.

Intresting thought, but trinity and morpheous are people not programs... unless they are the same thing smith is... although that seems unlikely.

The entire matrix can be viewed as code when inside it... there is nothing real inside the matrix... its all residual self image.

That was just used as an effect. Just like during the cake scene when it showed what Neo saw, the code itself.

Indeed... same thing in the previews when neo puts his glasses on and goes from code to RSI.

I guess since they were in the matrix they were coded, and their human body was still on the ship.

Heres to the people who think Trinity and Neo are Programs..... They ARE human because they LOVE. Only humans can love.
The only thing that confused me was the end where neo says something like "Something feels different to me" then he zaps the sentinles (sp?). The 3rd will explain that...I cant wait, im going opening night.

from what ive heard, neo can sense the sentinels and control them because of agt smith. he got some of smiths powers either in the first one when he killed him (which is most likelu) or when smith tried to clone himslef in neo, in which case then morpheus should have similar powers
