My engine was leaking coolant ever so slightly out of the weep hole and dripping down the alternator and oil pan. The leak was small. I took no chances and immediately tore the engine apart. I don't recommend anyone try this even with a garage full of tools I have my hands full. I'm also doing it in the car with the AC still attached etc...

Here a quick video I shot after torquing the new water pump down.


My engine has 130k miles and water pump was definitely original. The bearings spun smooth with no play. However the gasket surface was all crusty / burned looking and definitely ready to leak into the oil pan... I have pics i can share.

I'm also throwing in a new cloyes timing kit. My timing components look original but also not in bad shape. I could barely find the timing marks but Cloyes has a good video on finding them.
 






I should mention the timing cover is a very tight fit but can be maneuvered out without contacting anything very slowly. They crack very easily so handle with care
