Thinking of joining the Army, and thoughts? suggestions?

I ship out for basic march 9th so that gives them some time to get my security clearance straightened out. I'm already planning on running and working out to help get me in shape.

Congrats dude sounds like a good job. The TS clearence can be a ***** sometimes, it took longer then 48 weeks for my clearence to get thru but that was ok because my tech school was about a year. Good luck dude!

Congrats for helping to defend this country. I've been in the Navy for a little over 9 years, and if I was going to go into another branch, it would have been the Army.

Just make sure that you get a good job. Don't settle for some stupid job because the detailer is just trying to fill a billet.
;) ;)

DITTO!! Choose a decent job, because thats what you'll be doing for the next four years (or more).

Congrats Doug..

I think your basic will be in Ft Lenardwood(aka.. lost in the woods), MO. There's no troop training command here at Ft. Leavenworth, KS (Where I work), just officer schools... And your AIT will be at Ft. Huachuaca, AZ..

You may want to PM KSpride, he's stationed in Huachuca, and is in one of the Intell.. MOS's (not sure which one) but he's an Instructor out there...

Again Congrats...

Now that i think about it, it is lenardwood. I was talking to KSpride last night and i know where I'm going to be there will be some wheeling but aparently students can't associate with the soldiers on base which kinda sucks. Atleast i know there's wheeling around there now. :)

But if you just happen to be at the same trailhead at the same time then it is all good;)

Ahahaha....that's right I knew it was called something but couldn't remember. I told Doug that I was there with a group of combat engineers doing some sort of air assualt survival training. Two weeks of marshy crap lost in the woods was exactly right on a night navigation course when we walked into a bog and had to wade out. That made the rest of the night sucky. wet sore and itchy.
