Has anyone tried adding a third row seat to a 2002 Explorer ?

Yes, it's easy. Just need a donor vehicle and all the parts.

Do you happen to know what all I need to replace so I can come up with a parts list ?

It's easiest to just go to a wrecking yard and get it. As you take it apart, you'll see all that you need.

You'll need a decent torx socket set. There will be studs in the floor of the ex, remove and take them all.

Best sure and grab the seat belts as well. The side seat belts retract into the side panels, you need to pop the panels off to get to the seat belt retractor. Grab the side panels as well, since they will have the slots for the belts.

I know this, since I removed the third seat from my 03'explorer and install a flat piece of plywood for more cargo space.

I have been keeping an eye out for things online. Most of the junk yards around here won't let you pull your own parts. I read something about the right side trim panel and the jack cover needing to be changed too. What are the differences in the 2 panels?

If you live in Essex MD, there are three "Crazy Rays" near you, 5 total locations. http://www.crazyraysautoparts.com/
They are "pull your parts" places and charge $1 to enter the yard and look around.

I have had good luck finding parts at the Mt Airy and the Jessup locations, haven't been to the other three.
