does oil rise if you have a leak?

ive had a small.oil.leak that I think was due to a slightly loose pipe on the oil cooler behind the front grill. ive tightened them but won't know if it's fixed untill I run it round tomorrow.

I've cleaned and dried up the area to see if I can figure it out if it's still.leaking.

but if it's fixed I am.puzzled as to why there is oil higher than the point of the suspect.

why would this be?

Oil doesn't rise on its own, but it can be blown up higher in a location like that.

Hopefully then it's been blown up there. However I've not noticed any damage on the cooler. am I correct in thinking the cooler had an inlet, a rail and an outlet?

is the oil circulated as up one side, across the top and done the other side?

I can't find any issues with the cooler itself. do they have any habits of rupturing which may result in it being 1 third damp with oil?
