I was reading the intructions (something I rarely do) about my knew Holley truck avenger carb. It said that if hooking to a ford trans. that I have to order the optional kick down attachment to carb. Now would this apply to my 302 connected to my early C4 tranny. My tranny man who has the C4 is in the hospital with a gall stone operation this week end, of all things. So I really don't want to call him at the hosp. I do have my limitaions. :p

And just what exactly is the function of this gizmo. Is that when you tap the gas the idel goes back down when choke is ingaged?

Just added: I have several BW 1350 transfer cases. While he is going to modify the C4 should I have him check those out also. Sounds like the right thing to do? Is there something thats common to these transfer cases that should be done for preventive maintenance?

I knew I should have put a standard manual tranny in. Something I know more about.

Nope, the throttle kick down allows you to attach the transmision kick down cable or linkage to the carb. When you mash the gas, it pulls on the cable and kicks the tranny down a gear.

Thanks I'll order one Monday. I just added some more to that post. If you know about that also I'd appreciate it. :D
