I have a 99 AWD Explorer Limited that is making a thumping noise in the front end differential.
I have replaced both CV Axles, the right side wheel bearing, inner shaft and inner shaft bearing and seal.
I removed the transfer case to the differential shaft and drove it and it still made the noise.
The noise is mainly coming from the right hand side and gets louder turning left and at higher speeds.
I'm wondering if anyone else has seen a problem like this one. Could it be a carrier bearing?
