Timing Chain Issue

I have a 98 Explorer 4.0 SOHC Engine and have timing chain problems. How do I determine which engine I have? In a repair manual it states 4.0L Engine (VIN X) or 4.0L Engine (VIN E) my VIN # is 1FMZU34E1WUC77370

E is SOHC. Another easy way is to pop your hood and read what it says on top of the engine. It usually give you a clue

Welcome mate, what problems are you having?I know you will find a wealth of info here regarding this matter- I know a member, Howard- well respected and kind man who knows a lot about the Explorers and has done more than a few fixes for members here who have had noisy timing chains, (00m12 kit) He has done so many now, I think he is the first port of call if you need to know more!
