Timing problem.

I have a timing problem in my 4.0 sohc. For about the same price I can do 3 things. 1. Pay a garage to pull the motor.fix all the timing Chains or number 2 go and buy a low mileage 4.0 from the junkyard and put it in myself. number 3 buy a 2001 Ford Explorer with a 5.0 in and swap it in I would like to do the 5.0 but I don't know what in it entail. How hard is the 5.0 swap?

It matter is your truck 2wd or 4wd? If you do the 5.0 swap the 5.0 is awd so you would have to use a different transfer case to retain 4wd. The wiring isn't to bad, you do have to do some repinning of wires in connectors.
