Hi All,
First time poster.
I have a 2000 Explorer 4 x 4, 70 K miles with OEM Steel 15" wheels and 236/75R15 tires which need to be replaced.
My options are:
Use the Existing 15" rims with new 235/75R15 tires.
I found four 16 inch alloy wheels from a wrecked 2002 X at a bone yard and put 235/70R16 tires on them giving me the same outside diameter as the 235/75R15 size tires (no computer recalibration)
Or put the Ford Recommended size 255/70R16 on the 16" rims and see if I can pay the local Ford dealer shop to recalibrate the computer for the bigger tire size.
Thoughts?
