Tire guy says bad ball joints

If you do need ball joints, I'd install nothing less than MOOG brand joints. Chinese cheap joints are exactly that- they don't last.

I just droped a grand on replacing all ball joints on my 2000 5.0 and outter tie rod ends. I got it done at the Dealership as well as getting recall work done for free. I'd assume that the Dealership would put the best product on since this is a major ford dealership(carries many shelby cobras). But after seeing both my brother's galant and friends Cougar both collapse I ddin't want to take a chance of the same thing happening to me. And we did test it when I had my truck lifted.

My service manager has had good luck with ebay parts on his vehicles....so i figured with money being tight i'd try it. Like I've said before, I'll let you guys know how good the quality is, and if it bolts up as it should. I'll be installing them saturday at the dealership so I can align it right then. Worst case scenario I replace them as they wear out, and I'll be getting some extra practice out of it too...lol

I would suggest you replace the bottom ball joints first. These will keep from doing more damage. However you might want to start thinking of the uppers (they come with new control arms as well). The way i diagnosed there being a issue with the upper control arm issue was to put my weight on each side. Eventually i heard the bushings were squeaking a little bit (more annoying than anything). I have replaced everything on the front suspension. I am going for an alignment in the morning. Just make sure if you are not sure what you are doing that you have a friend help who does.

I wonder if one of my joints are going? On my 00' ex awd, whenever I turn all the way to the right while moving slowly and if I go over any pot holes, can slightly hear and feel clunking. Just today I checked it for worn out ball joints and no movement but I did hear a slight creaking sound? Can't that also be a wheel bearing because I replaced the one the passenger side? I'm confused lol
