I got my kit used and am not sure if it has a shackle lift or not, how long are your shackles that you used to do the shackle lift so i can measure mine and see if there longer or not.
thanks for all the help

Can't you measure the stock shackles you have on the vehicle?

just hold the new ones up to the old ones and asee if theres a difference.

the war153s are 8.5 inches IIRC

sorry was in a hurry, i can measure the stock ones against the ones i put on there, but since i dont know where the leaf pack came from or what they came off of i dont know if the one that is on there is stock for what it came off of or if its a extended one thats why i wanted to know how long you guys that have the lift on there x is.

thanks for the help you guys, i do have the longer shackles so ima go out and get the coil spacers for the front

the f150 spring seats are the easiest/cheapest way to space the front. (just incase thats not what youre refering to)

Ya i was going to hit the junk yard this weekend and see what i can find, any particular year i should look at.

thanks, i found a junk yard that at soon as they get an f150 in there will just give them to me for free

For a shackle lift, a general rule of thumb is this. For every inch you increase the center to center of the shackle bolts, you will get about half an inch of lift.

Why wait for F-150 coil seat spacers from a junk yard? The one's that will fit are from an early '90's 2x4.... and from a dealer mine cost like $10 bucks. Oh terror of Terrors. I think I have more than that invested in grade 8 washers.

If you want the part #'s so that you can know what to order just search for F-150 coil seat spacers or I can have my front axle removed from my truck in about 10 minutes and see if mine still have the sticker on them.

i have the part numbers but the guy said they are 78 bucks apeice.

The one side is retardedly expensive for one reason. I'd just grab a set from the junker. They'd probably just give them to you.

ya found a junk yard theyd give them to me but they dont have one yet

Found the pt #'s finally. On a receipt no less.
From the dealer for about $15.

So i was thinking about lifting my x some more, i have done alot of reading and found alot of people saying anymore then 6 inches of lift on the ttb is to much.
my thought was do a soa on the rear take out my extended shackle and use the new leaf i got wich is about a 2inch lift or so, then the 5.5 lift i get from doing the soa, so about a 7.5 lift, and then for the front i already have 4 inch radious drop brackets and i beam drop brackets so i was thinking of getting 5.5 inch lifting coils and doing the f150 coil lift for 7.5 in the front, but i guess that would be to much lift.
my question i guess wich i did read much into would be is that to much lift for the ttb, and are the 4 in drop brackets enough to accomadate the 7.5 inch lift i would get out of the ttb.
after alot of hours reading the great stuff thats on this forum i think it would be to much and not doable just wanted to see if someone else wanted to chime in and confirm what im thinking or give me some ideas i guess,
thanks

awd,

Before you start thinking of reaching for the sky, my question would be what are you going to use it for? And what size tires will you be putting on your X to accomplish your goals?

Most 6" coils (like skyjacker pt#136) tend to settle out at about 5-5.5" of actual lift, and the coil seat spacers make up for it, which is needed if you slap a winch on the front and/or some armor. IMHO, 6" is more than just about anyone would ever need, as with that on mine I can do just about anything here in CO, and that's with open diff's. I'd be worried about getting the CG too tall to handle any off camber situations with more lift, and the steering for the TTB axle gets kinda freaky too.

Also, what ttb drop brackets do you have? (and could you post pics?) I just swapped my drop brackets out b/c they were janky and fractured (I went cheap and stupid, and almost died for it). Again, imho, the only brackets that I trust are the Skyjacker ones, which are beyond overbuilt, and the same can be said for their extended radius arms. James Duff makes a damned nice TTB kit as well, and they are just finishing up fabricating a SAS out of a box kit for the 1st gens as well.
