Well, I know this will sound awesfull, but I have an X with 165,000 miles on it and just spent $3500 in the last year for new tires, front end ball joints, and a new T-case and rear driveshaft. And so, I am now pondering selling my old faithful sled.

The gm discount is offering some sick deals, but i know I wont even get my repair funds back, nor does it guarantee me a reliable truck.

Great quote from GM dealer after I told him the mileage:

"Is it an Explorer?"

Now, he may have looked up my info using my name, but the way it was said...

KBB trade in: $3700
New Colorado: $23,500
Speachless GM sailsman: PRICELESS

I may have to keep my favorite toy after all...but the new trucks out there sure do make it hard to resist a test drive...and the price is rediculous!

Your thoughts...go ahead and bash me :D

no payments reliable... new car new payments and full covage... I only owed a year one mine and swapped it off wish I'd kept it..

$21,000 after taxes and tags...but I don't think I'll budge unless that looks more like $20,000 w/ some accessories thrown in....tough call, my X is running great right now.

I'd stick it out with the existing ride until you blow your engine or transmission. I'm in the same boat with my 98. I've got 150k miles so its basically worthless to a dealer. KBB tends to be way off on values of high mile vehicles. With the employee pricing programs on new vehicles, dealers don't have any room to move off of auction wholesale pricing for trade ins.

If you really want to get into a new ride, you would be better off selling it by yourself and brining cash to the dealer.

I'll stick with old faithful

I've decided to keep my X-afterall :D

Good those new Colorado's are a POS anyways.

Go get the Ford family discount on a Ranger.
