Posting this here in addition to the stock forum because I figure a lot of modified guys have dealt with this in particular. If it matters, I do plan to put a 2" lift with TT and Shackles on after I get through replacing all these suspension parts.
I'm in the middle of replacing all front-end suspension parts, including 2 new LCAs. Granted, the truck is 17 years old, and I doubt that these adjuster bolts have ever been touched in all that time, but the torsion bar key cover bolts cam off with relative ease. The adjuster bolt, however, is not wanting to budge without that feeling that I'm about to twist the head off the bolt. Is that normal? I have the vehicle on jack stands high enough so that the LCAs are hanging freely. I just sprayed each bolt (left side and right side) with PB Blaster about an hour ago after I saw how tough this bolt was to turn. I tried it about 45 minutes later. No luck. Is this because the bolt is in compression? I would have thought that would HELP... not hurt its ability to loosen.

Any comments welcome.

Like the body mount and throttle position sensor bolts, the factory uses an excessive amount of heat activated blue thread lock compound on the torsion bolts. Try heating the bolt heads with a propane torch about 30 seconds or enough to soften the Loctite. Also, to prevent rounding the very small bolt heads, a standard length SIX POINT socket is highly recommended. Threadlocked bolt pics linked below.

I am definitely using the proper size hex-head socket. I'm about this close to going out and buying an impact wrench to finish this job. I am completely worn out and sore. I'm out of shape, and my ass is killing me from siting on concrete driveway. I am also discovering that the "pristine" Eddie Bauer I thought I had bought 4 years ago has a very disturbing rust problem underneath.
