Though the paint and clear coat overall have held up quite well, there are several small isolated spots (mostly on the doors and hood) that have damaged paint, likely caused by hard flying highway debris and a--holes in parking lots. Also the roof racks are peeling so I want to get that dealt with ASAP.
Had it clayed/polished/waxed in May and the guy suggested getting the paint touched up in those areas, and commented that otherwise the vehicle looked great. I have zero experience with actual automotive painting, but am willing to give it a shot myself once I'm comfortable that I know what I'm doing.
I'm looking at these 8-ounce aerosol cans of Duplicolor. Has anyone had experiences with it, either good or bad, particularly in amazon green? How about their primer and clear coat? Or would I be better off getting the little bottles of Motorcraft lacquer?
Would I need to apply primer for the black paint on the non-metallic B-pillar?
What do I do about the roof rack rails? I'm assuming they use some different type of paint?
