Hi all

I'm going to be getting a caravan next weekend and I need to upgrade the towbar electrics. Currently I've got a N-type plug on there as up until now I've only towed a trailer.

Can anyone advise me on what kind of S-Type wiring kit I'll need to get. This page on towsure.co.uk has various kinds.

Any tips on fitting would also be very welcome. I've a 2000 North Face Explorer.

Thanks,
Shariff

Basically all you need is the S socket, a bracket, some cable and a relay. The kit for £6.95 on the link you gave will supply the first three things and just buy one of the relays.

The relay determines what supply is live to the caravan at all times and what is only live when the vehicle engine is running (battery charger, fridge etc).

Wiring is pretty much as easy as a standard trailer socket.
