tps causing tranny problems?

the tps just started malfunctioning and so did the tranny. would the tps cause these kind of problems? they didnt start till i discovered the tps malfunctioning.

How is the tranny malfunctioning?

closed loop & TC

If the TPS problem keeps the PCM from going into closed loop then the torque converter will not lock up. Also, the TPS output is a factor in the PCM determining when to downshift.
