I have a 97 XLT 4.0 SOHC explorer that idles rough and hesitates on acceleration at times. I checked the voltage of the wiring for the MAF sensor through the connector and got 5.0 volts and did the same for the TPS, I had no voltage at all there. My Haynes manual stated I would see 10.0 at the MAF and 5.0 at the TPS. Any help or tips on what could be wrong.

What is a cover sheet?

re-check the TPS. you have to have something there. there will be one that is ground (no voltage), one that is around 5 volts, and another that should be anywere from 0.80 to 1.05 volts. 0.96 is about perfect on the signal wire, and the TPS can be rotated to get that voltage.

haha, yeah....didn't you get the memo? We're now putting cover sheets on the TPS reports.

LOL, maybe you better send him another memo.
