Trailer Hitch for Body Lift

Yeah...but how are they mounted, and where did you get them?? I need to get some for my rear.

The Picture I Posted is a photo of the Factory tow Point that came on my Explorer. I had to Notch a Diagonal Brace for it when I installed my Trailer Hitch. BUT... When I do the Body Lift I figure this is going to come off. I use my Hitch with a Shackle Reciever as My Rear Tow Point. Dead Link Removed

I got one of those on mine. They come witht he 2 door trucks and mount on the side of the frame. Technically they don;t work if you also have a trailer hitch, but I just removed the little bar that went ona diagonal and bolted it on. It got bolted on using the bumper bolts I believe. Hopefully removing that diagonal bar doesn;t make it too weak.....:hammer:

Hmm..when I bought my X it had a hitch on it...they must have taken them off.

I didn't have them when I got my X, but when I lifted the body and took the hitch off I welded a couple on from Autozone. The worked well, but they are rated at 1000lbs and I know people who have busted them. If you have a hitch you do not need a tow hook! You can use the hitch as your tow point, it is much stronger.

I know.....oh well..lol:D

Only reason I was afreaid of busting one is not because they hard to replace, but I was always afraid of what the projectile would hit under all that tension, winshield, dog, PERSON! :fart:

Very true....thats why I just hook my strap to the tow hitch...i just had the tow loop so I figured I'd bolt it on...oh well

you just never know!

All I know is my strap would most likely break before my hitch comes off...lol I don;t use my tow loop unless I take the hitch off for some reason.

alright!:bounce: Just completed helping a buddy move back here. It was a 400 mile round trip. We took my X and a 12 foot box trailer to do the move. Packed the trailer as tight as it would go and my ugly welds and bolds held with no problems (not that I expected any different). :bounce:
