OK boys and girls, I'm alive. Everybody present? OK. Here's what's happening with me. I will be lifted for the event Pete as my 2" suspension lift is sitting in my garage right now. I'm shopping for a winch. Now I just bought pretty nice set of Dunlop Rover Mud tires today but looks like it's gonna be a wrong size. Riff, do you need 35" Mud tires? These are installed on my 15X8 black AR wheels. I'd love to trade them for a set of 33's. OK now, problem is I have much more to worry about now. Coming back from work today I noticed some kind of squeeling noise coming from the front wheel. When I took the wheel off hub was very hot and hard to turn like the brakes were locked. Almost by my house I heard a knock in that wheel and now there's more noise. Looks like either something with brakes or bearings. Let's just hope it's not the hubs since I didn't even put it in 4 wheel since Attica. I'm taking the whole thing apart tomorrow as I need to put new coils in. Looks like I'll replace the brake outfits anyway as I have new sets sitting on the counter. If I have everything together I'm game for both dates. Sat. and Sun. and Lafayette looks very nice to me. Ramada there is pretty cool, a lot better then in Danville. If I can't put it all together I'll let you know so you guys can stop by my place sometime before the run and help me get it all there. OK now, at ease!

:)

I'll help!!!! if you need it anyway...

now...heres the thing....i had almost 100% decided on 33" super swampers, and decided against the 35's....NOW you seem to have re-established my want!!! hmmm...what to do, what to do.......

i'll get back to ya....

as far as your brakes and what not...now im no expert, and kampy will probably be able to tell you more certainly than i....but i would guess a locked up caliper....i think....but who knows....

Excellent news! Andre...hope the front end is okay...Riff is in controversy as to what to do...What is a price...I'm lookin for a set of street tires...better than my old 31 A/T's and smoother than my boggers..Gimme a price and I'll see what I can do...maybe it'll be part of my x-mas present...who knows....Keep me up to date on the Ramada in Lafayette!
Thanks,
Pete

These babies are Mud tires Pete so I don't think you can run them on the street like that. I'm afraid they will not fit on my rig without mods even with this 2" stuff. 5 or 6 inch yes but not with 2 although I do have 3" of body lift there. Well, I'll try.

Front end tomorrow, will keep you posted...

one more thing....

Ramada? I'll book a room tomorrow. We'll share it.

works?

andre..if its cool w\ you, i'll go in on the room w\ ya...

andre...lemme know how many they got available if possible...
Thanks,
Pete

attica the 19th

Kampy, we will definitely be there on sunday. I do not have a CB, so I won't be able to track you guys down. I do have an idea of what your truck looks like though. I have a '00 blk ZR2, my plate is my user name. If you see us, feel free to stop and say hi. Hopefully we will have atleast 6-8 trucks with us. later

I'm gonna start an attica turckey run thread to sort this all out and so this isn't going between like 3 other posts
Pete

I won't be going on the 18th. Have fun and run a hard one for me.

Bump!

Might as well, keep it floating so more guys will read it.

Any interested in whelling in Illinois or Indiana come to Attica, IN on 18th of November. We're gonna have some fun!

Later,

what are you guys asleep?

hello!?

Trail in Peoria!

Okay, I just got done wheeling on some new trails right off I-74. It's actually right off Pinecrest Dr. It has some pretty good hills. It's in a creek bottom. We got stuck a couple of times, but that was because we bottomed. There was one good mud hole that we didn't even want to attempt because we are stock. The hill going in and out is pretty long, winedy, and rutted.

Oh ya! The only bad part is there are big cement blocks that say keep out. They have been moved off the trail. We didn't have any problems though.

If anyone is interested let me know at DR2641@home.com

Later, Dustin

Dustin, you should of checked our thread about going to Attica this last weekend. We wheeled there two days. It's not too far from where you were. We had such a blast, looks like evry time we get there it gets better and better. More runs planned for next year though. Look up some threads about Attica in Serious Explorations. JJW started a new one so check that too. Attica turkey run aftermath. Check it out.

Later,

Bump

anybody wanna do somthing? heh heh...anything? mud? rocks? crazy a$$ winter barbeque? anybody?

Riff, the mud is going to be rocks right now or have'nt you been outside? I just came in and the temp was -2. Plan it and I'll try to be there.

Looks like we have a bunch of fair weather guys around here.

on a different note, i found a park in Missouri. I realize that it would be quite a jaunt for most of you, but i would be remiss if i didn't at least mention it. this is the description i saw.

-- "St. Joe State Park - Missouri's third-largest state park - has the largest and one of the most popular off-road-vehicle areas in the Midwest, with about 2,000 acres for riding. The park is located in the heart of the Old Lead Belt in southeast Missouri, where much of the nation's lead ore was extracted. In 1975, St. Joe Minerals Corp. ceased operations here and donated the land to the state. The wooded portions of the 8,238-acre park provide horseback-riding and hiking trails, picnic areas and campsites for horseback riders and other guests. Monsanto Lake has a large swimming beach."

Its about an hour south of St. Louis. Never been there, never heard an account of the terrain from a fellow offroader. just found it one day.

There is also the Land Between the Lakes in north eastern tenesee. Quite a jaunt, but could be fun.

Seems there's just a few of us hard core mudders out here.

Ya Scott, think something up and I'll be there. Has to be after xmas break. January sometime.

Park sounds nice. Camping trip? I might be all for it if we can get a few trucks lined-up.

Keep going, keep going.
A fellow offroader driving his Land Rover Disco told me a bit about a place in Lake Geneva. Anybody heard of it?
