Hey everyone I'm new and I need help.I have a 2001 ford explorer sport Trac and the trainsmission is bad. Can a 2004 ford explorer Trac trainsmission fit into my 2001 because someone is trying to sell me one but I'm not sure it will fit can someone give me advice.

Both vehicles are 4wd?

Yes 01-05 sport and sport trac use same 5r55e automatic transmission

One is 2wd drive the other one is 4wd

A 2wd auto trans and 4wd auto trans are not compatible

You cannot just remove the 2wd tail housing and install the 4wd tailhousing without rebuilding the entire transmission
