Well here's what is happening, hope someone has a suggestion or two.
The tranny was rebuilt less than a year ago, with a new heavy duty torque converter.
Today it started to slip,in d , and od.Then it started to not shift into 2, or 3 easily, but after letting off the gas it would shift. When I got home after about 4 miles of this, there was a slight smell while sitting in the garage.
Is this more than a vb gasket? which should be an upgraded one since it was rebuilt.Or band adjustment? which may not have been done properly.

Need to arm myself with info, before going back to trans shop and inquiring about warranty work.

Thanks

Check the fluid level. Do you have a flashing overdrive light or a check engine light?

It has no od light flashing, and the fluid level is a little high. This is the third time in three years this thing is going out, same tranny shop ,bummer is that the owner is a friend from my Pontiac GTO club. They're missing something.

Problem fixed!!
The intermediate band locknut on the adjuster stud came loose and the band came way out of adjustment. What happened was when they rebuilt it a year ago they adjusted the band ,and then tightened the nut , but the o-ring on the nut got caught between the threads ,and made feel like it was tight, but it wasn't,so it slowly let the stud loosen up until it came out enough to cause the symptoms I mentioned above.
