Tranny code between 95 ohv and 97 ohv.

Hi and yes i did search. Here is my problem. I have 95 ohv ex with 4r55e
tranny and i found one out of 97 ohv. Can it just drop right in. Is there a plate or tag on the tranny that identify it?Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

The 97 is a 5R55E with an extra sensor.

So i can not use this tranny yes or no. What year do they make ohv tranny only? Is there a tag on the tranny somewhere that say 4r55e? Thanks

It's might be possible to use if you swap some parts over.

Thanks anyway bud,i'll save myself the pain. I "ll just find the right tranny to go in there ( 4r55e) only.

from what I found when I was looking for mine that the 95 and early 96 vin code x were the same
