hey all, I need to replace the steel trans lines as they are rotten and leaking. anyone know how much trans fluid is in the radiator so I can get a pan big enough? this is for a 92 xlt 4x4. thanks.

It's not much at all. It's a cylindrical tube ("tank") that sits inside the plastic end cap. I'd wager that the fluid in all the trans lines & radiator tank would fit in a quart jug.

ok, thanks. I was guestimating around a gal so good to know I was wrong.

Nowhere near that much :) The majority (5-6 quarts maybe?) is in the torque converter and then there's another 2-3 quarts in the pan then maybe another one in the valve body and misc passages. The radiator tank is small, so small that even the bean counters decided to agree to an external cooler for the transmission since the radiator tank can't dissipate much heat.
