New to the forum and here is the problem 96 ohv 4.0l had a bad trans. Had a 98 sohc with bad engine but trans. did shift. Swapped units, keeping the 96 transfer case. I believe the 96 is a 4R55E and the 98 is a 5R55E. The trans./transfer case won't come out of low and only get 1-2 shift. I see the extra connector on the 98 trans. I was told that you could leave that disconnected and get the speed to pcm from original transfer case. Anyone have an idea. Ready to remove and try to trade units with local yard.
