Transfer Case Rebuild? '92 Exp

Would someone guide me to a post or give me some info about a transfer case rebuild?

Currently, my 4x4 does not work on my explorer. I think its the shift motor(took it apart with that guide, found the rubber gasket in a million pieces, but couldnt get anything to work to fix it, will have to buy a new one at some point), but i have a sick feeling that it may be the transfer case because its a replacement to the old one. I have the old one as well (just aquired it) and supposidly it doenst work.

If I find out my installed transfercase is borked, how hard would it be to rebuild my old one?

The transfer case discussed in the following thread is the BW-4405, where as yours is the BW-135x so there are some differences. For example, your transfer case's shift positions are 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO. But for the most part, the concepts are the same.
