Hi, I own a 2002 EB edition explorer. It has 141k miles on it. Is it worth putting a transmission cooler on soon to prevent a transmission failure? Or is it too late?

If you are not having any transmission trouble I would say it's not too late.

It should make it last a little longer if it's done correctly.

I'm pretty sure that your explorer should have an aluminum stand alone transmission cooler from the factory. The 02-05 4.0 liter uses a stand alone unit that is a good sized, I would assume that the same years of the 4.6 would use the same?

Ya mine has one between the a/c condenser and the radiator along with a power steering cooler in front below the a/c condenser.
