my car leaks a little bit.

probably not the engine oil because the level is OK.

question is:

if the transmission fluid (oil) level is low, would that throw a Service engine soon light ?

if should I take the car to the service to get the level checked out , so my transmission is not running dry ?

Car is running OK, except some mild "kicks" when downshifting when the car is getting stopped.

thanks

Possibly a bad tranny modulator valve.

Have you been adding ATF and it just seems to disappear? (no leaks on the driveway)

Is the ATF level low and your oil level high? Any red fluid in the Throttle body or vacuum lines? (check at vacuum tree/plenum)

Is so, then you have a bad tranny modulator valve.

If you have a cel, what are the codes?

I have no CEL.
i have few drops of oil on the parking lot. its seems to be coming from rear main seal.

i did not add fluid.

i don't even know how to add fluid. just checking here if there would be a CEL if the fluid is low.

thanks for getting back to me.

No CEL for low ATF fluid. (that I'm aware of)

Just driveability and shifting issues.

To check ATF fluid level 1994 EX: (With warm running engine)

1) Pull ATF dipstick (In Park) wipe and reinsert.
2) Read fluid level.

If Low: see 3 if not skip to 4

3) Add ATF Fluid (For Ford vehicles) Use a funnel into the dipstick tube.

4) Reinsert ATF dipstick.

5) Enjoy!

Dee Dee Dee "Carlos Mencia"

Once again I will now stick to the 1st gen Xs.

I forgot they built trucks after 1994. I guess not all EXs are created the same. ;)

My bad! How can Ford make a truck with no tranny dipstick?

To keep you coming back to the Dealership! You *******s.

Unfortunately for us Gen 3 owners we have an "enclosed" system. Which means you may have to become somewhat friendly with the local dealership.

How many miles on that Ex? Have you ever had the tranny serviced? These Gen 3 trannys need TLC or they won't last.

110k miles.

I had a "solenoid" changed once. about 30k miles ago. Nothing else besides that.

Thanks for replys! have a nice day.
