I've got a 96 Explorer XL 4x4 that needs a new transmission fluid pan gasket and filter. How much fluid goes back in?

It should be 5 qts, but you can always call Autozone and they can tell you for sure. Also, think about changing the TC (Transfer Case) fluid as well. This take from 3 oz to 1.3 qts, depending on the tranny.
