- 99 mountaineer
I have a 99 mountaineer with 4.0 and 4wd. It has 100k miles and I just performed transmission oil change. If your just cruising with light throttle, even at low speeds around 30 mph, the transmission will go into a higher gear, as it should, but then when i need more power, such as climbing a hill, the engine will lug until i give it about 3/4 throttle to get it to downshift. Seems like the torque converter likes to go to full lockup.Which sensor does this sound like that is going bad. EPC? The tranny shifts smooth as butter when Iam on half throttle leaving from a stop. No other issues. It has done this even before the oil change. Thanks
