Replaced old transmission in my 1992 Explorer. New transmission will not engage in any gear and a ticking noise is coming from the torque converter area. Pulled transmission back out and made sure converter hub was fully engaged in the pump gear. I am still having the same problems, will not go in any gear and a tapping or ticking noise can be heard in front area of the transmission. Sounds to me like the converter studs are hitting something. Could use some advice. THINK YOU, uphold1333@gmail.com

Welcome to this forum! Did you rotate the converter several times into the bell housing, and notice that it dropped a notch after each turn?
Yes I did, In fact it felt like it droped two times and made a little clicking noise. and I made sure converter never moved forword when lined up.

Masterd, what is the cause of that ticking sound you recorded?

2+2,

Dunno, never went and tore into it, but its still running.
