I searched for about an hour on the forum and found people with similar problems like im having. but i still wasn't able to get the answers i need.

About a month ago i started smelling something burning after i parked my truck and when i look its something dripping onto my catalytic converter and burning off. i just replaced my pinion seal on my front axel not too long ago due to it leaking and burning off on the cats..now it seems to be coming from around the oil pan but its not oil. i put some tranny stop leak in it not too long ago and it doesn't seem to be helping. I had the transmission serviced at about 115,000 miles and its on 120,000 now. prior to that the only thing leaking was the pinion seal. im trying to figure out exactly which seal it could be. the fluid level seems to stay pretty steady where its at so its not leaking a ridiculous amount..its just aggravating smelling burning tray fluid every time i park it.

thanks:salute:

Mine had an internal seal that was bad and causing mine to leak. I ended up spending 900.00 bucks to have the tranny pulled and replaced all the seals and any other parts that were worn. Now I have the aftermarket drain plug leaking..

If it's making it that far up, it's probably the front seal near the torque converter. But don't expect the stop leak additive to help much - it may work in an emergency for a short period of time but this fluid is designed to swell up and soften the seals/O-rings in the entire transmission - which means they will all probably need be replaced.

yeah its been about a week now and nothing has changed with it. it doesnt pool up or anything while its sitting so its not a big leak but its still a leak. so im probably gonna have to pull the tranny and replace the seals then..
