Transmission options

I have rare find transmission is not working changes on transmission lever engages but won’t go into neutral like it’s in park all time.


What does one recommend for replacement on this?
Is there a upgrade for this unit?

Are you saying it is locked into Park??

There is a safety switch that hold it in park until you press the brake.

IF the brake light switch fails your stuck in Park.

Had that happen to my 02.

Have someone watch for brake lights when you press the brake to see if that is your problem.

If so replace the brake lights switch on the brake petal.

If not then you make have a linkage problem, you don't need to swap a transmission for that.

as racprops said ...check both ends of linkage........also front of shifter ...little round plug type dohickey...open...push long screwdriver into it...manual shifter release.....

Transmission reverse was very weak. So pulled it and having it rebuild. Drove great in forward but if a slight incline for reverse would stop. Also if I have a little throttle would just rev up no transfer to drive.
