Transmission Overhaul advise

Hi all,

Like I said in a thread before, my transmission is shot. My X is '93 with automatic transmission (A4LD). I am planning to do it myself (I have some mechanical experience) following a thread I found in this forum: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98027&highlight=A4LD+Rebuild+Diary

Is it worth to get it? I am planning to take her to the trail (it will include some mild rock crawling).

Is there anything I need to get before I get started? Should I think about a better torque converter?

IMHO that is way overpriced. PM me for some other suggestions. And yes replace your TC in your rebuild. Not the only reason, but most rebuilt TC's have brazed fins. You want that.
