alright yall i recently pulled the tranny to put a new front pump seal on.. i did this while i had the body off(replaced the body and what not). Just to make it easy. when we did it we left the torque converter attached to the motor and just slid the transmission back enough to replace the seal. Now with the new body back on and the truck put back together i cant get the transmission to move. all the linkage is hooked up and i can see the shifter change the gears.

now my question is does the torque converter have to be put on the transmission before being put back against the motor? if it does did i just completely mess up my tranny?

anyone with any suggestions please feel free to comment

Bad deal, the torque converter needs to be seated in the housing, there are usually 2 notches that will seat it.

You may have really messed up here......if you ran the engine you may have damaged the converter, some of the tranny gurus will tell you if that is the case I'm sure.:D
