I have a 1995 Exporer. When in overdrive and slowly accelarating I experience a low amplitude, high frequency vibration like I am driving on grooved pavement. If I back of the gas pedal or accelorate more the vibration goes away. I had my transmission rebuilt at 117k miles and the shop kept replacing parts until this problem went away. This was not the initial problem that caused me to get the transmission rebuilt in the first place but is showed up 199 miles after the rebuild. But 30k miles after the rebuild, the problem is back. There must be a cause. Transmission shops I have called have no clue and just want to tear into it and see what they find.

I don't have an answer but I'm interested, mine is doing it as well. My first thought is to flush the tranny but half the time when people do this they get a bigger problem.

Don't be scared!!

Now don't be too scared but that same problem happend to me. I asked around, took it to the shop and still nothing. finally one day I was driving down the highway and.....pop clank hisssss. My problem was the rear drive shaft had come loose and was vibrating, eventually it just snaped the tranny in half. ooooo was that messy.

Hope this helps.
