treadwright, alignment.

Hey fellas.
I'm awaiting my order from treadwright.com, i got the 30x9.5x15 puma's ... basically a generic bfg at :)
But here's my problem, my mother drove my ex a while back. it was a snowy day so i threw it in 4x4 for her, but when she left her work she didnt take it out. it was completely dry roads on her way home, and it really did a number to my alignment..
i need to know if i'll have any problems getting my tires mounted, balanced, and an alignment at a tire shop. I have heard some shops wont do retreaded tires. thanks felas !!
o ya ...... its a 94 xlt 4 door 4wd. ... o o o and its green :)

Driving it in 4WD isn't going to affect the alignment.

I'd look at the possibility she may have hit a curb or something may have worn out or loosened.

I have to agree, that's not gonna affect the alignment, you have something worn out.

well i had been in a wreck in my ex a while back, and thats what really knocked it off. seemed to do it no help driving it around like that, but it may have been just me i guess. my real question is making sure that an alignment/tire shop will have no problem with retread tires.

guard dog from treadwright

Hey I got a set of 32" treadwrite guard dog for my x awhile back and I needed an alignment as well. The tires were put together so well I didnt even tell them they were re-treads they didnt even ask until they already did everything. The guy asked "I didnt think yokohama made offroad tires"...lol yea they are a prototype... The only issue i had was when the tread was seated on the carcass it was wobbly. Like left to right. I figured Id give treadwright a call but when i drove it i didnt notice anything so i left it alone. ive had them for a few months now and hit speeds up to 105. Thats where my x cuts off. No fun but they held up fine and they are great tires. No problems what so ever. let us know how you like em when you get em in.

sweet man thanks for the info !!! ive had my ex up about that high once too :) :) chasing a crotch rocket down the interstate ... ya ..
But of course. Ive heard such great things from this company ... im just sick of waiting. absolutely great customer service, although i was on hold for like 20 mins ha !! They said itd be a 4 week wait :/ that was like 10 days ago. I'm hoping i get lucky and have most the summer on them. I'll let you guys know ! Did you go to a local shop .. or .. ??

i just went to a tire place. Forgot the name. Big yellow place. But yea they are great. They are great i think i spend 20-25 minutes on the phone asking questions. They never once transferred me or sounded upset. yea i had a 4-6 week wait too. They were outta the carcasses I needed. But they are great tires I have yet to have any kinda problems even going 100+ miles an hour. I think I have mine at about 40psi. You just gotta figure out that sweet spot with them. Some are around 33-35 some a higher. Just mess with it and you will find it. Post up some pics when you do get em in.

Will do !!! i can't wait :) every time i see a ups truck i check my porch :)

Haha I know the feeling! I wouldnt stop checking the door either when i purchsed mine!

okay so i'm going camping this week .... and i have this feeling ... although reality tells me otherwise, maybe ... just maybe they'll be here when i get back !!! :D

I hope so bro... I remembered when I got mine. It was epic. If you want it bad enough it will happen! Just want it! Want it bad!!!!

lol i do !!! just tracked my order ... their supposed to be here tomorrow !!!
now i have to worry about getting them on and balanced. fml. i cant finda a good deal anywhere.

ooooo boy .... just checked my tracking number .... on a truck headed for the house !!!! yeeehaww !!! :)

Hell yea!!! Oh Im excited for you. Yea It cost a little much for mine with balance and alignment. I think i went to mineke (sp)? . Costs a good chunck of change. If i knew how to do it I would have but I just dont have the toold either. Just looka round see what you can do. Good luck.. AND TAKE PICS!!!

okay ya i headed to walmart and i think they said 12 a tire, before the alignment lol
their in !!! waitin in the ex for the morning to be slapped on there !!! ill post pics asap lol

12 a tire? thats not bad at all. I paid way more. I forgot about walmart. O well. Glad to hear that you got em. I gotta do another small writeup on these tires. Ive been keeping track of how well they do after certain amount of time and miles speed offroad etc. But congrats!

ya it wasnt bad !!! it came out to a little over 50 bucks ... my dad gave me his credit card so i can pay him back in cash, only problem is i had to pay a buddy 50 bucks 4 hours later to pull me out of the drainage ditch i was wheelin in ... hahahaha
ill post pics tonight hopefully, phones not at home !! :)

haha lucky at least you get to go wheelin. I just moved to the east coast of florida and I have no idea where to go. Unless I just see a construction site and just have at it, but I like to do things legal. Yea Ill post pics too of my ride. I just put in a 3" body lift with 2.5 inch spacers and 32" tires. But good to hear you got em on and your using them. Have fun and good luck. Maybe you should invest in a winch :D you know just incase your buddy is busy...lol

ya man my prob with construction sites is you never know when their is **** just layin around that may want to ambush your tires. the first guy that tried to pull me out got stuck in not near as bad of stuff as i did, but he was in a blazer :D :D hahaha
Before a winch i want to build a front and rear bumper, and put brackets on both so i can switch my winch back and forth ! :D

That sounds like a great idea, cuz I know I dont have the money for dual winches. Im sure you could weld a bracket to the rear bumper or have something like the look of the 4th gen iron man x's with the trim that comes up the front and rear of the vehicle, just make it out of metal and weld it in place.
