truck barely moving when put in OD, D is fine.

I have a 91 ranger, i was driving from the store the other day, when i pulled up to a stop light. When the light went green, i pressed the gas peddle, and my truck started to creap, like 2 feet a minute creep. 3 lights later i realized that the truck wouldn't mover till i hit 5000 rpms, she started picking up speed. I was .5 miles from my house so i decided to risk it. made it fine. let the truck sit over night, started the next day. Same story, but Drive, reverse and 1st and 2nd word as advertised, Overdrive still allows the truck to move only when between 4500-5000 RPMS. she will pick up speed and i can get her up to 25 mph in OD, In regular D no problems, 65 easy. Anyone have any ideas?

it may be a torque converter lockup switch acting up
