...Spare tire, jack, tools, and any other parts you might think would get broke...There is a big junkyard at the 10 where a few stop and get parts...

...Services out there are limited to mini marts so bringing your food/beverages for the length of stay is important too...

...Having AAA could be a plus if you are worried about your vehicle making it home..;)

Are you insinuating something here ?:shifty_ey:D

oh yeah that Junkyard is at 10 and Dillon Rd.;) I wonder what stuff he has now????

...Naw, but I need to check my usage....I think Truckhaven is just a bit to far for the 100 mile package...I heard that extra few miles could break the bank...:dunno:

Your only about 45 miles over the limit, from Salton City.

I have been towed from Indio to Hisperia.. That was 116 miles. 16 miles of it I paid for at $6/mile..

We now have the 200 mile AAA..

This is why I have my own trailer;)

And you can bring more firewood.

I said I had a trailer....I didn't say it was in the best shape:( Almost missing a entire board now of the deck. At least it's in the middle. :D But that means I really can't put any firewood on it. And the truck needs airbags, because I loaded it up last time ...and it was a bit much for just the truck:( with the trailer on the back too.

Camping gear in the explorer and firewood in your 150. I fill the bed of ranger with firewood camping gear goes in the bed of my chevy. Along with the lumber rack and full 3 bed tool boxes filled with tools. I also have to climb to 4000 ft elevation before I drop into the desert. You even have a chip in your truck plus it is 2wd so less drag then mine.

I should be able to bring a bunch of firewood. There is a place right by work that has free firewood. Actually pallets. I can maybe put a bunch of them in the back of the van.. i doubt its gonna weigh that much.

We will see how the van does with 54 gallons of fuel, and the firewood while pulling the X on the trailer with a full load of fuel.. and there are some pretty big hills to climb to get there.. I wonder if I'll stay anywhere near 10mpg?

I'm just saying I need to spend the $250 bucks for air bags to level it out....the truck dosn't care as far a power though, your right:D:thumbsup:

Just a weather note:

It's looking like it's going to be in the low 80's in the day and in the low 50's at night. I would bring along a extra blanket for you tent guys.

Those from back east 50 here and 50 there is NOT the same. because we're in Cali and close to the ocean blue the air is a bit moist at night. It's not a Dry cold like your use to, and we're all wimp and start complanig when it get to the 60's out here:p:

We're still at least a week off from knowing what the weather will be like for sure however, we still have no rain in the forcast, and it always rains at least one day in October. The big W has also been on hiatus really so far this season too so far. Anything is possiable. I'll update a weather forcast late next week.;)

I'm getting closer.. things are starting to come together.. (I probably just jinxed it)...

Planning fuel stops etc... (trip calculator @ gasbuddy.com)
