Hi, all. I just recently got a '94 XLT from a friend of mine and I've changed the front wipers with no problem but that rear wiper is being stubborn. It's been on there a long time you can tell, and is a bit rusted up. How exactly does it come off the wiper arm? I don't want to damage the arm.

Enjoying the site, lots of great info!

It takes a lot of force to get it off. I would just take the whole arm off and mess with it on a work bench.

sorry i just got around to taking the pics today but here they are

First gen explorer's use 12" rear wipers. I bought rainX blades but the way they are made it wouldn't work with the factory wiper arm. So after looking around my local walmart does not stock any wipers this size and also had none with the right setup for it to even attach right.

My local Advance auto has some but they cost more. $11.99 Vs Walmarts $8.99 on the same wiper blades :(

Thanks for the pics!!:salute:

According to O'Reilly's a 14" is needed for the back. That's what was on there anyway.

no problem hope it helps

Mine has a 14" but it hits the lower plastic cover thing under the window and has put several scraps into the plastic

I just replaced mine today and found that if you buy a new wiper that doesnt quite fit right, (meaning the little plastic clip on the wiper is slightly different) take the clip off the old blade and stick it on the new one. I bought a bosch and it came with three different clips. None of them fit right so thats what I did and it works great.
They are a b!*tch to get off too.

For me, I took and cut that plastic piece that is sticking up in the way since it is very hard to find cheap wipers that are like the old ones.

Me,

I just took mine to Ford for an oil change and said change the rear WW blade please. I think they charged me 14 bux for the blade and they had to deal with getting the old one off.
